Annual Salary Range: $50-55K


Wild Life Distillery is located in Canmore, Alberta and we are excited to be hiring for this amazing career opportunity.

We are hiring for the position of Assistant Distiller who will be responsible for helping with the day-to-day operations of our new production facility. The Assistant distiller will be involved in a wide variety of tasks including milling, mashing, fermentation, distillation, maturation, blending and bottling.

You will work with the passionate team here at WLD, and produce world class spirits in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. 

What you will do …

  • Work with our team to manage to production of all WLD products
  • Assist with raw materials and packaging inventory procurement
  • Milling, mashing and fermentation activities
  • Be responsible for accurate and consistent distillation of spirits
  • Be responsible for for maintaining accurate production records using distillery software
  • Be responsible for blending and proofing of spirits 
  • Assist in whisky warehouse and barrelled inventory management
  • Assist with distillery maintenance and cleaning of production equipment and facilities
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality control protocols
  • Be responsible for ensuring safe work practices are followed and documented

What you will bring to the Wild Life team …

  • A good attitude and work ethic - this is a must 
  • Experience in brewing and distilling is an asset
  • Sensory skills for tasting and evaluating spirits for quality and flavour
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • A strong attention to detail and ability to plan daily tasks and work efficiently 
  • Strong computer and mathematical skills
  • Positive attitude towards work and an ability to excite team members and colleagues about daily tasks
  • An ability to work efficiently alongside other team members and also excel while working independently
  • A sense of creativity, collaboration and passion about WLD products, adventure, and the place we are so fortunate to distill in.
  • Experience operating a forklift is an asset
  • Experience operating steam boiler system, glycol system, pumps, and other distillery systems is an asset

The fine print… The candidate must

  • Maintain a valid AGLC ProServe Certification
  • Maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License with a clean record 
  • 40 hrs/week minimum of work is expected to fulfill the duties of the job
  • Read and sign all policies and procedure documentation
  • Work safely at all times
