Wild Life Distillery is hiring! We are in search of a dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic Mixologist to work with our WLD Tasting Room Team.

What you will do ... 

Primary duties include operating a friendly tasting room and retail space, cocktail execution, retail service, POS system operation, opening and closing duties such as cash handling, tips reporting, and nightly reconciliation. 

Summary of Responsibilities ...

  • Act as a customer service expert, sales associate, mixologist and event facilitator. 
  • Maintaining product knowledge along with cocktail menu offerings and ingredients in all products.
  • Create a positive and fun working environment while still delivering performance feedback and holding staff accountable on a daily basis. 
  • Lead by example, be the hardest working person on the shift and use positivity to motivate and influence staff. 
  • Perform guided tastings and cocktail education as needed. 
  • Ensure the bar is fully stocked to execute cocktail service based on seasonal demands. 
  • Ensure the tasting room is clean and prepped for service daily. 

About you ...

This is the ideal position for a team player who is positive, energetic and motivated by caring for and working with in a customer service role. To be the best fit for this position, you have a genuine interest in mixology and working with local craft spirits. If you are an individual who loves craft spirits, interacting with customers (both locals and visitors) and creating memorable experiences for our guests, then this is the role for you.

Qualifications and Required Experience ...

  • 3+ years restaurant and/or bartending experience, preferably at a distillery or cocktail bar.
  • Valid AGLC ProServe
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends. 
  • Excellent knowledge of spirits and cocktails (cocktail techniques and classic recipe knowledge is an asset). Do you know how to shake, stir, build? What about syrup construction methods, cordials, acid adjusting, fat washing, flavour balancing? Advanced cocktail technique knowledge is an asset.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
