Location: Canmore, Alberta
Schedule: Full Time (35-40hrs/week)
Wage: $18 Hourly + Tips

Wild Life Distillery is located in Canmore, Alberta and our team is growing! This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience while showcasing and selling our spirits through cocktails, education, and storytelling.
The successful candidate will help build the WLD brand by creating memorable in-person experiences, executing tastings and activations, and embodying the Wild Life lifestyle in every guest interaction.

What you will do ...
Primary duties include operating a welcoming tasting room and retail space, cocktail preparation and service, retail sales, POS system operation, and opening and closing responsibilities including cash handling and nightly reconciliation. The role also includes the execution of off-site events throughout the Bow Valley.
Summary of Responsibilities ...

Act as a customer service expert, sales associate, mixologist, and event facilitator.

Maintain strong product knowledge, including cocktail menu offerings and ingredients used in all products.

Foster a positive and fun working environment while providing performance feedback and holding staff accountable on a daily basis.

Lead by example, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and use positivity to motivate and influence the team.

Perform guided tastings and provide cocktail education as needed.

Ensure the bar is fully stocked and prepared to execute cocktail service based on seasonal demand.

Ensure the tasting room is clean, organized, and prepared for daily service.

Support the growth of the WLD brand by acting as an ambassador at events.
About you ...
This is an ideal position for a team player who is positive, energetic, and motivated by working in a customer-focused environment. The best fit for this role will have a genuine interest in mixology and working with local craft spirits. If you enjoy craft spirits, interacting with customers—both locals and visitors—and creating memorable guest experiences, this could be a great fit for you.
Qualifications and Required Experience ...
- 2+ years restaurant and/or bartending experience, preferably at a distillery or cocktail bar.
- Valid AGLC ProServe
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Excellent knowledge of spirits and cocktails (cocktail techniques and classic recipe knowledge is an asset). Do you know how to shake, stir, build? What about syrup construction methods, cordials, acid adjusting, fat washing, flavour balancing? Advanced cocktail technique knowledge is an asset.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and must be insurable under the company’s commercial vehicle insurance policy.
